Everything you need to know about using HexSplash in your Discord server.

Commands

HexSplash responds to three main commands. Each command uses 1 credit and generates AI-powered colour images.

!col Single Colour Generate a single colour from any description. !col midnight sky Midnight sky colour
!grad Gradient Generate a smooth gradient between colours. !grad sunset over the ocean Sunset gradient
!pal Palette Generate a harmonious palette of 3-5 colours. !pal autumn forest Autumn palette

Download Buttons

Every colour response includes download buttons for three common formats:

Landscape

1920 x 1080

Portrait

1080 x 1920

Square

1000 x 1000

Click any button to open the full-resolution image in your browser for download.

Gradient Rotation

Gradient responses include a special Rotate button that lets you change the gradient direction.

  1. Click the Rotate button below the gradient
  2. An ephemeral message appears with 8 direction buttons
  3. Choose from cardinal directions (up, right, down, left) or diagonals
  4. The preview updates instantly with your chosen angle
  5. Download buttons reflect the new rotation

Refinement

Not quite the right shade? Reply to the bot's response to refine it. Each refinement uses 1 credit.

Refinement tips

  • 1 credit per refinement - Each refinement costs 1 credit, same as a regular command
  • Natural language - Say things like "warmer", "more vibrant", "less saturated", or "add more blue"
  • Reply to the message - Make sure you're replying directly to the bot's colour response
  • 24-hour window - Refinements are available for 24 hours after the original command

Credits

Credits power your colour generation. Here's how the system works:

1 Credit Per Command

Each !col, !grad, or !pal command uses 1 credit from your server's balance.

Monthly Top-Up

Servers with fewer than 100 credits are topped up to 100 on the 1st of each month. Free forever.

Purchase More

Need more credits? Purchase packages through the Dashboard starting at $10 AUD.

Refine Your Colours

Reply to any bot response to adjust the colours. Refinements cost 1 credit each, available for 24 hours.

Dashboard

The Dashboard lets server admins manage HexSplash settings:

  • View credit balance and transaction history
  • Choose listening channels where the bot responds
  • Configure warnings for low credit notifications
  • Set embed size for colour preview images
  • Enable gift credits so community members can contribute
  • Purchase credits via Stripe or PayPal
